Sometimes, for various reasons, a loft isn't quite right for a purchaser. Perhaps they're just not ready for open concept living, or maybe they're looking for something less expensive, better located, in a more traditional condo building with all the amenities, but they still want something with some style and interesting features. Or, as is the case in the present market, there just aren't enough loft listings to choose from.

There are some condo buildings that offer alternatives, such as ceilings that are 9 or 10+ feet high (especially with the conversion of an office building), larger windows, semi-open concept layouts, hardwood floors, etc. You can consider taking out a wall to open up a kitchen with an island or a breakfast bar, or take out that ugly carpeting and put in hardwood, or even have the concrete floors finished to mimic a real loft.
